Repair of the master brake cylinder in the event of a malfunction consists in replacing it as an assembly with a new one. The only items to be replaced are the connecting sleeve 4 (pic. 327), in case of detecting traces of fluid leakage, and the sealing ring 7 between the main brake cylinder and the vacuum booster.
When replacing the connecting sleeves, perform the following operations:
- open the tank lid and use a pear siphon to pump out the liquid from it;
- using a screwdriver, shake the tank left and right and carefully remove it;
- remove the connecting sleeves;
- lubricate new connecting sleeves with brake fluid and insert them into the main brake cylinder;
- install the tank carefully;
- restore the fluid level in the reservoir and bleed the hydraulic drive system.
