Working brake cylinder
1. Protective cap; 2. Cuff; 3. Dust cap; 4. Air release valve; 5. Spring; 6. Wheel brake cylinder body; 7. Piston
Removing
1. Remove brake drum (see subsection 7.7) and brake pads (see subsection 7.8).
2. Loosen the brake piping cap nut without unscrewing.
3. Unscrew the brake cylinder screw at the rear of the brake support.
Attention! If an old brake cylinder is to be repaired, install a complete repair kit. In the absence of sufficient skills, entrust the work to the service station.
Installation
1. Place a rag under the brake support shield.
2. Unscrew the air release valve.
3. Unscrew the nut of the brake pipe and immediately screw it onto the new brake cylinder by hand. This results in less loss of brake fluid.
4. Screw in the screw securing the brake cylinder and tighten to 20 Nm.
5. Slightly tighten the union nut of the brake pipe with a torque of 5 Nm, if possible with an open spanner.
6. Install the brake drum and brake pads.
7. Release air from the brake system (see subsection 7.12).
