Removal

Remove the brake shoes from the brake drum, see the relevant chapter.

Loosen the union nut of the brake pipe, but do not unscrew the nut completely.

Remove 2 Allen-head bolts from the rear of the brake shield.

Installation

Place a rag under the brake shield.

Loosen the union nut of the brake pipe and immediately screw it onto the new wheel brake cylinder by hand. This avoids a large loss of brake fluid.

Tighten the wheel brake cylinder mounting bolts to a torque of 8 Nm.

An open-end ring spanner, such as the HAZET 612N, can easily tighten the union nut of the brake pipe. The tightening torque is 5 Nm.

Install the brake pads, see the relevant chapter.

Bleed the brake system, see next chapter.
