The brake light switch is located on the pedal bracket. When the brake pedal is pressed, the brake light is activated via the switch. In addition, the brake light switch serves as a signal sensor for the ABS/EDS systems about the start of the braking process. Therefore, the correct functioning of the brake light switch is extremely important.

Caution: The brake light switch can only be installed once. Once removed, it must be replaced.


Press and disconnect the brake light plug connector.

Turn the brake light switch to the left and thereby release it from the lock.

Remove the brake light switch.

Installation



Installation


Before installing the brake light switch, it is necessary to fasten the brake pedal to the brake booster. Holding the spherical end of the rod in front of the receiver, press the brake pedal in the direction of the booster until the spherical end is fixed with an audible click.

Pull out the "arrow" contact pin on the new brake light switch as far as it will go, thereby adjusting the switch.

Insert the brake light switch with the protrusions on it into the recesses of the pedal bracket and fix it by turning it 45° to the right. The switch must be securely fastened. When installing the brake light switch in the pedal bracket, the contact pin is adjusted automatically.

Connect the brake light switch plug.

After adjusting the brake light switch, check whether the brake pedal is in its original position (released) position.
