Care must be taken when handling brake fluid.

Brake fluid is poisonous. Never suck it in through a hose with your mouth. Store brake fluid in containers from which it cannot, even accidentally, get into food.

Brake fluid has corrosive properties and therefore should not come into contact with the varnish coating. If it does come into contact with the paint, wipe it off immediately and rinse with plenty of water.

Brake fluid is hygroscopic, it is saturated with water from the air. Therefore, it should be stored in closed containers.

Use brake fluid in the brake system only once, do not reuse. Even when releasing air from the system, add fresh fluid.

Brake fluid specification: FMVSS 116 DOT-4.

Do not mix brake fluid with mineral oil. Even a small amount of mineral oil will make the brake fluid unusable or cause the brake system to fail.

Replace brake fluid every 2 years, if possible after cold weather.
