Care must be taken when handling brake fluid.
Brake fluid is poisonous. Never suck it up by mouth through a hose. Store brake fluid in containers from which, even by accident, it cannot get into food.
Brake fluid is corrosive and must therefore not come into contact with paintwork. In case of contact, wipe off immediately and rinse with plenty of water.
Brake fluid is hygroscopic, saturated with water from the air. Therefore, store in closed containers.
Use brake fluid in the brake system only once, do not reuse. Even if air is bled from the system, top up with fresh fluid.
Brake Fluid Specification: FMVSS 116 DOT-4.
Do not mix brake fluid with mineral oil. Even a small amount of mineral oil makes the brake fluid unusable or leads to failure of the brake system.
Change the brake fluid every 2 years, if possible after the cold season.
