Removal

1. Loosen the wheel bolts. The car stands on its wheels.

2. Mark the position of the disc relative to the wheel hub with paint so that the balanced wheel can then be installed in its original position and direction of rolling.

3. Place the car on stands and remove the rear wheel.

4. Release the handbrake

5. Unscrew the Allen screw of the brake drum with a 5 mm wrench.

6. In order to remove the brake drum, it is necessary to press the brake shoes. To do this, use a screwdriver to turn the automatic adjustment gear through the hole in the brake support until the brake linings no longer adhere to the brake drum. The wheel should rotate freely.

7. Remove the brake drum. If necessary, remove the drum from the wheel hub using a universal puller.

Installation

1. Clean the brake drum thoroughly. Turn the drum with groove marks. Always turn both drums. See the wear limit in subsection 7.2.

2. Perform a basic adjustment of the rear wheel brake pads.

3. Install the brake drum and secure with the Allen screw.

4. Install the wheel, observing the marking. Remove the car from the jacks and tighten the bolts crosswise to 160 Nm.

Caution! Press the foot brake pedal repeatedly with the hand brake released. In this case, the automatic adjustment sets the brake shoes to the desired position.
