Order of execution
Four-cylinder petrol engines

2. Drain the coolant from the cooling system.
1.8-I Turbo petrol engine with air conditioning
3. Remove the top engine cover.
4. Remove poly V-belt.
5. Unscrew the top (A) and lower (V) air conditioning compressor mounting bolts and, without disconnecting the pipelines from it, move it to the side and fix it there.
Engines 1.6-/1.8-I

Engine 1.4
7. Unscrew the connecting fittings, as in engines 1.6 / 1.8-I.
8. Remove the O-ring thermostat from the engine block. When removing the thermostat on the 1.8-I engine, it is necessary to turn the thermostat counterclockwise by 90°.
Diesel engines
9. Unscrew the bolts securing the connecting fitting and remove it from the water pump. Move the connecting fitting with the hose to the side. To remove the thermostat, turn it counterclockwise by 90°.
