Removing
Attention! The part designations refer to the cooling systems of the 4-cylinder engine. Removal and installation from a 5-cylinder engine is carried out similarly.
1. Place a suitable container under the coolant connection.
2. unscrew the bolts (4) coolant thermostat connection pipe (21) (see fig. Water pump, coolant thermostat, oil cooler for 4-cylinder petrol and diesel engines).
3. Take out the sealing ring (7).
4. Take out the thermostat (21).
Examination
1. measure size "A" on the thermostat (see fig. Cold and hot thermostat dimensions).
2. Warm up the thermostat in a water bath. In this case, the thermostat should not touch the walls of the vessel.
3. Control the temperature with a thermometer. The beginning of the opening of the thermostat is about 87°C, the end is about 102°C.
4. After heating the thermostat to about 100°C, the size "b" must exceed the size "A" not less than 7 mm.
Installation
1. Replace the sealing ring, install the thermostat and screw on the cover, fill in the coolant.
2. Let the engine run until the thermostat opens. Check the tightness of the cap and coolant hose.
