The fan temperature sensor is located on the right at the middle height of the radiator (see fig. Radiator and fan). The temperature sensor has two switching stages. At high temperatures, it turns on the fan at full speed.
Examination
1. Check fuse #19, replace if necessary.
2. Check if the heatsink is hot in the area of the temperature sensor.
3. Disconnect the plug from the temperature sensor. On the cable plug, first connect the terminal (+) with terminal 1 (red/black cable), the fan should run at low speed. Then connect the terminal (+) with terminal 2 (red/white cable), the fan must run at high speed (see table 1). If the fan works in both cases, replace the temperature sensor.
4. If the fan does not work or only works at one speed, check the wiring according to the wiring diagram. Check the contacts and the reliability of the connections, check the switching relay, replace if necessary.
5. Temperature sensor tightening torque: 25 Nm.
6. Check the operation of the new temperature sensor. Warm up the engine while driving and let it idle until the electric fan turns on.

1 | Red Black | 84°– 89° | 76°– 83° |
2 | Red White | 90°– 95° | 82°– 89° |
