Checking the temperature sensor
A. Connecting plug; B. Temperature sensor; 1, 2, 3, 4. Contacts
Examination
1. Turn the ignition on and off.
2. Remove the connecting plug (A).
3. Connect contacts 1 and 2 with an additional wire.
4. In cars without a circulation pump, the electric fan should work. In cars with a circulation pump, the pump should work. The circulation pump is located, for example, in a 4-cylinder gasoline engine under the left fan.
Attention! Since the time relay only works for 10–12 minutes after turning the ignition on and off, the check should be performed within this time.
5. If the electric fan does not work, check the wiring according to the electrical diagram and eliminate the break, if necessary, replace the time relay.
6. Turn on the ignition.
Resistance check
1. Connect an ohmmeter to contacts 1 and 2 of the temperature sensor (B) (cm. rice. Checking the temperature sensor). Required values: below +103°C – infinite resistance, above +104°C = 0 Ohm.
2. If the measured values do not correspond to the required ones, replace the circulation temperature sensor.
