Removal and installation the lock cylinder housing (VW Golf 4)

Removal

1. Open the front door and remove the protective cap (3) from the bolt located near the front door lock cylinder (1 – lock cylinder mounting bolt, 2 – lock mounting bolts).

2. Pull the door opening handle away from the door and lock it in this position.

3. Unscrew the bolt (3) securing the door lock cylinder (2) as far as it will go (1 – door opening handle, A – 4 mm wrench). As a result, the lock cylinder housing will be unscrewed.

Warning: Do not unscrew the bolt completely, otherwise the locking ring may fall into the door.

4. On the right side of the door opening handle, remove the lock cylinder housing with the lock cylinder from the door.

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
