Front door fastening elements

  • 1 - door;
  • 2 - external door opening handle with support;
  • 3 - lock cylinder body;
  • 4 - plug;
  • 5 - bolt, 18 Nm;
  • 6 - door lock button;
  • 7 - Lock button pull;
  • 8 - protective cover;
  • 9 - bolt, 20 Nm;
  • 10 - strike plate of the lock;
  • 11 - door lock;
  • 12 - traction;
  • 13 - inner door opening handle;
  • 14 - screw with internal shaped recess, 20 Nm + tighten by 90°. A new bolt must be used during installation;
  • 15 - bolt with internal shaped recess, 20 Nm + turn further by 90°. When removing the door, only this bolt must be unscrewed. When installing, a new bolt must be used;
  • 16 - door hinge with door locking lever;
  • 17 - bolt with internal shaped recess,
  • 20 Nm + tighten by 90°. The bolt is screwed in from the inside of the car. To access the bolt, you need to remove the inner trim of the front door pillar. When installing, you must use a new bolt;
  • 18 - bolt with internal shaped recess,
  • 20 Nm + tighten by 90°. A new bolt must be used during installation;
  • 19 - bolt with internal shaped recess, 20 Nm + tighten by 90°. A new bolt must be used during installation;
  • 20 - protective cap;
  • 21 - bolt, 13 Nm;
  • 22 - door hinge;
  • 23 - bolt with internal shaped recess, 20 Nm + tighten by 90°. The bolt is screwed in from the inside of the car. To access the bolt, you need to remove the instrument panel. When installing, you must use a new bolt;
  • 24 - bolt with internal shaped recess, 20 Nm + tighten by 90°. A new bolt must be used during installation;
  • A - special tool HAZET-2597. Used to unscrew the door hinge mounting bolts;
  • B - T45 adapter for HAZET-2597-01 tool;
  • C - fixing screw;
  • D - 4mm internal multi-tooth socket wrench VW-T10011. Used to unscrew the lock cylinder housing fixing screw




Removal



1. Remove the side trim in the driver's footwell.

2. Disconnect all accessible electrical connectors.

3. Remove the plugs from the front pillar and the front end of the front door and pull the electrical connectors out through the opening.

4. Remove the protective cap (20) and unscrew the bolt (21) securing the upper door hinge.

5. Ask an assistant to support the door.

6. Unscrew the bolt (15) securing the lower door hinge.

7. Remove the door from the vehicle by moving it upward.

Installation



1. Install the door on the hinges from above.

2. Screw in the bolt (15) securing the lower door hinge and tighten it to a torque of 20 Nm, then turn it through an angle of 90°.

3. Screw the bolt (21) into the upper joint and tighten it to a torque of 13 Nm. Install the protective cap on the bolt.

4. Thread the electrical connectors through the holes in the front door pillar and connect them in the driver's footwell.

5. Install the side trim into the driver's footwell.
