Removal and installation door glass (VW Golf 4)

Front door glass and bracket fastening elements

• 1 - glass seal;
• 2 - front door;
• 3 - lower inner glass seal;
• 4 - bolt, 20 Nm;
• 5 - door bracket. The window lifter is an integral part of the door bracket;
• 6 - window lift motor;
• 7 - bolt, 10 Nm;
• 8 - plug;
• 9 - screw, 8 Nm;
• 10 - mechanical window lifter;
• 11 - door glass

Removal

1. Remove the interior door trim.



2. Remove the technological plugs (1) covering the holes in the inner part of the door (2 – bolt).

3. Lower the door glass until you have access to the glass mounting bolts.

4. Loosen the bolt (2) and release the clips securing the glass to the window regulator.



5. By lifting the rear part of the glass and turning it at the same time, remove the glass outward from the door window opening.

Installation

1. In the reverse order of removal, install the glass in the door and secure it to the clamps. The clamps should be located at the level of the technological holes.

2. Move the glass (3) back, insert it into the guide and secure it with the bolt (2), tightening it to a torque of 10 Nm (1 – door bracket mounting screw, 4 – glass retainer mounting screw).

3. Install technological plugs.

4. Install the interior door trim.
