Removal and installation the upper trim of the rear door (VW Golf 4)

Rear door upper trim fastening elements

• 1 - Upper trim of the rear door;
• 2 - back door;
• 3 - guide bolts 4 pcs.;
• 4 - spring clamps 2 pcs.;
• 5 - expansion piston 2 pcs.;
• 6 - expansion pin for expansion piston 2 pcs.;
• 7 - clamps 4 pcs.

Removal

1. Remove the lower rear door trim.

2. On both sides of the door, remove the expansion pin (6) from the expansion piston (5).

3. Pull in the direction of arrow (A) to release the rear door upper trim from the spring clips on both sides.

4. Pull downwards (arrow B) to release the upper portion of the rear door trim from the spring clips and remove it from the vehicle.

Installation

1. Before installing the rear door trim, check the condition of the spring clips (4 and 7) and replace them if necessary.

2. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
