Alignment of the engine mounts is required if the engine and gearbox have been dismantled, rubber-metal bearings have been unscrewed from the drive mechanism and from the engine support bracket. In order to re-align the drive mechanism without error, the following work must be carried out.
Slightly loosen the middle bolts in the rubber-metal bearing of the drive mechanism suspension.
Slightly loosen the two rubber-metal bearing bolts (2).
Rock the drive mechanism back and forth until it levels out without tension, then tighten the bolts in the opposite order to those described above for those bolts. Be sure to take into account the difference in tightening torques.
