Alignment of engine mounts is required if the engine and gearbox have been dismantled, the rubber-metal bearings have been unscrewed from the drive mechanism and from the engine support bracket. In order to accurately align the drive mechanism again, the following work must be performed.
Slightly loosen the middle bolts in the rubber-metal bearing of the drive mechanism suspension.
Slightly loosen the two rubber-metal bearing bolts (2).
Rock the drive mechanism back and forth until it aligns without tension, then tighten the bolts in the opposite sequence to that described for these bolts above. Be sure to take into account the difference in tightening torque.
