31. Remove the spring ring 5 securing the joint 6 to the axle shaft 9 (figure 7.1, Photo 7.13).

32. Using a small punch, carefully knock the casing off the hinge housing (photo 7.14)

33. Mark the exact position of the end of the rubber boot in relation to the drive axle shaft. A piece of insulating tape or quick-drying paint is sufficient. This mark will indicate the exact position of the rubber boot on the axle shaft during assembly (this is especially important in the GTI model).
34. Move the joint off the axle shaft or knock out the axle shaft using a copper punch (photo 7.15).

35. Remove the concave spring washer 7 from the axle shaft 9, making sure that the concave side is directed towards the joint hub, and the washer is toothed (photo 7.16).

36. Loosen the clamping belt and slide the rubber boot off the axle shaft.
