1. After installing the engine in the car, you need to check if everything is connected correctly, if there are rags and tools in the engine chamber.
2. Pre-set the ignition timing.
3. In 1.6D engines, it is necessary to set the start of injection and remove air from the fuel filter and injection pump.
4. Fully pull out the suction rod (in models with manual control of the carburetor choke) and start the engine. This may take a little longer than usual, as the fuel pump and carburetor float chamber may be empty. If there is a desire to facilitate starting the engine after repair, it is necessary to remove the carburetor cover and pour the appropriate amount of fuel into the float chamber (⅔ chamber capacity) After putting on the cover of the float chamber, you can start the engine. This helps a lot, especially when the engine does not start after installation, because in this case there is no doubt about whether the carburetor sucked in fuel and fed it into the float chamber.
5. After starting the engine, gradually insert the suction rod. Check if the oil pressure light is off.
6. Check for leaks near the oil filter and on the flexible pipes for fuel and water.
7. Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature. Then adjust idle.
8. If new pistons or crankshaft liners were mounted, the engine should be worn in for the first 750 km.
9. Although not necessary, it is a good idea to change the engine oil and the pre-burn-in filter.
10. Do not lap the engine while idling.
