Removal and installation the high pressure pump (VW Tiguan 1)

Remove the air filter. Disconnect the fuel supply line "arrow".

Remove the air filter. Disconnect the fuel supply line «arrow».


Disconnect the connector and the "arrow" fuel supply line from the high-pressure pump.

Disconnect the connector and the «arrow» fuel supply line from the high-pressure pump.


Remove guide "2" and remove clamp "4" from the high pressure line.

Instructions: When loosening the union nuts, hold the threaded connections on the high-pressure pump and the lower part of the intake manifold with a nut wedge.


Unscrew union nuts "3" and "1" of the high-pressure line.

Unscrew union nuts «3» and «1» of the high-pressure line.


Unscrew the mounting bolts "1", "2" and "3" evenly.



Unscrew the mounting bolts «1», «2» and «3» evenly.


Remove the high pressure pump "3" and the roller tappet "1" from the camshaft housing.

Remove the high pressure pump «3» and the roller tappet «1» from the camshaft housing.


Installation is carried out in reverse order, taking into account the following.

Instructions: Lubricate the roller tappet of the high-pressure pump with clean engine oil. Always replace the sealing ring of the high-pressure pump.


Insert roller tappet "1" into the camshaft housing. Install a new sealing ring "1" lubricated with engine oil into the groove of the high-pressure pump "2". Place the high-pressure pump "3" on the camshaft housing. Tighten the fastening bolts "1", "2" and "3" evenly. Tightening torque: 6 Nm. Tighten the union nuts of the high-pressure line "1" and "3" by hand. Install the guide "2" and press the clamp -4 onto the high-pressure line. Tightening torque of the guide fastening bolt: 8 Nm.


Instructions: When tightening the union nuts, hold the threaded connections on the high-pressure pump and the lower part of the intake manifold with a wrench.


Tighten union nut "1" of the high-pressure line to 18 Nm. Tighten union nut "3" of the high-pressure line to 18 Nm. Fasten the fuel supply line and the "arrow" connector to the high-pressure pump. Connect the fuel supply line "arrow". Install the air filter.
