Removal and installation engine control unit J623 (VW Tiguan 1)

Before replacing the engine control unit, connect the tester -VAS 5051 B- and perform the Guided Function "Replacing the engine control unit". Switch off the ignition. Remove the windscreen wiper arms. Remove the trim of the water drainage chamber. Disconnect connector "1" from the heated windscreen control unit "J505". Move the connector latches "2" on the engine control unit to the edges and disconnect both connectors. Unscrew the mounting screws "3". Remove the mounting frame with the engine control unit from the water drainage chamber.



Press the clamps "1" outward and move the engine control unit "2" in the direction of the arrow

Installation

Slide the engine control unit "1" in the direction of the arrow into the mounting frame.





Place the mounting frame with the engine control unit on the holder "4". Tightening torque of the mounting nuts of the holder "4": 6 Nm. Tighten the mounting screws "3" with a torque of 7 Nm. Connect the connectors to the engine control unit and move the clamps "2" to the middle. Connect connector "1" to the windshield heating control unit "J505". Install the trim of the water drainage box. Install the wiper arms.
