Operating principle
All opening and closing functions of the glass panel sunroof are performed with the ignition on.
After the ignition is turned off, the sunroof can be operated until the front left or front right door is opened.

The rotary switch pre-sets the longitudinal 2 and vertical 3 opening positions of the sunroof glass panel (pic. 1.21).
The rotary switch is marked with marks indicating the set shift and lift of the sunroof glass panel.
Opening the sliding/tilting sunroof in the so-called comfort position 1 provides maximum protection against extraneous noise that can occur when the sunroof is fully open in switch position 2.
Automatic preselection switch
The sliding/tilting sunroof is equipped with a closing force limiter. When hitting an obstacle during opening or closing from the lift or slide position, the glass panel moves in the opposite direction.
Additionally, the hatch is equipped with an emergency closing function. If there is a problem closing the sunroof with glass panel, it can be forced closed by pressing the switch, which must be in the position «Schiebedach geschlossen/ Hatch closed» 4.
When the sunroof is closed in an emergency, the force limiter is deactivated.
The drive for the sliding/tilting sunroof with glass panel is protected against overheating by a time limiter. The safety mechanism is activated after approximately 2 minutes of continuous sunroof operation. After the cooling phase, the sunroof drive is switched on again.
If there is no voltage in the on-board network, the sliding/tilting sunroof can be opened or closed with a standard hex wrench «for 4».
