Operating principle

With the ignition on, the sliding/tilting sunroof is opened and closed using a rotary switch. The sunroof opens when pressed and closes when pulled in the opposite direction.

With the ignition off, the sliding/tilting sunroof can be opened and closed as long as either the driver's door or the front right door is opened.

The rotary switch is marked to indicate the set position of the sunroof glass panel.

The lift and slide sunroof is equipped with a closing force limiter. If the sunroof encounters any obstacle while closing, it will automatically open again.

Additionally, the hatch is also equipped with an emergency closing function. If problems with closing the hatch occur, it can be closed forcibly by pressing the switch, which must be in the "Schiebedach geschlossen/Hatch closed" position.

However, when the hatch is closed in an emergency, the force limiter is switched off.

The lift/slide sunroof drive is protected against overheating by a time limiter. The safety mechanism is activated after approximately 2 minutes of continuous use of the sunroof drive. After a cooling phase, the safety mechanism is deactivated again.

If there is no voltage in the on-board network, the sliding and lifting sunroof can also be opened and closed using an Allen key. The Allen key is located on the inside of the interior light trim.
