Checking the parallel movement of the glass panel (VW Touareg 1)

Fold back the glass panel.

Slide the sun shield back as far as possible.

Release the corrugated cover from the bottom, starting from the back.

Release the corrugated cover from the top, starting from the front.

Pull the corrugated cover back out of the grooves and remove it (fig. 8.44).

Remove the sunroof glass panel.

The marking on the top of the guide, at the back, 1 should be between the marks on both sides and on the rocker guides 2 (fig. 8.46).

The slide guide 2 must be fixed in the guide rail (does not move by hand).

Adjusting the parallel movement of the glass panel

NOTE: The parallel stroke can only be adjusted with the drive and glass panel removed (in the initial position).

Remove the sunroof drive.

The marking on the top of the guide, at the back, 1 should be between the marks on both sides and on the rocker guides 2 (fig. 8.46).

The slide guide 2 must be fixed in the guide rail (does not move by hand).

Slide the top of guide 1 from front to back and position it so that it is centered between the marks.

Set the drive in this position (starting position).

Finally, check that the original position of the hatch is correct.
