1 - Service interval indicator

The reading appears on the tachometer after the ignition is turned on (the engine has not started yet) for a few seconds instead of the kilometer display. If no service is required, IN 00 appears.

When a certain service is due, one of the following flashing indicators appears for a few seconds after the engine is started:
  • OEL - Engine Oil Change;
  • IN 01 - Maintenance;
  • IN 02 - maintenance with additional work operations.

After performing a service, the display of each service individually must be called up again and the display must be reset. For example, if an inspection service IN 02 with an oil change was performed, then OEL, IN 01 and IN 02 must be reset. The display can be reset at Volkswagen service stations.

Variable Service Interval Indicator

The reading appears on the tachometer after the ignition is turned on (the engine has not started yet) for a few seconds instead of the mileage display. If no service is required, the INSP-0 display appears.

If the service is carried out after 15,000 km or after 12 months, the display will show after a certain period of time (a few seconds) the following values are displayed in turn:
  • engine oil change - OEL crosswise with INSP;
  • INSP-1 - maintenance;
  • INSP-2 - technical maintenance with additional work operations.

After performing maintenance, it is necessary to call up the readings of each service separately again and reset the readings.

2 - Tachometer

The tachometer needle should never go into the red section of the scale.
