Removal the glass panel of the lift-and-slide sunroof (VW Touareg 1)

Raise the hatch.

Slide the sun shield back.

Release the corrugated cover from the bottom strip, starting from the rear of the hatch.

Then release the corrugated cover from the top strip, starting from the front of the hatch.

Pull the corrugated cover back from the grooves and remove it (Fig. 8.44).



Remove the mounting screws (three on each side) 4.5 Nm.

Remove the glass panel of the sliding/tilting sunroof by lifting it upwards (Fig. 8.45).

NOTE: When the glass panel is removed, it is prohibited to open the sunroof to the "gepffnet/open" position, as the glass panel will not press against the water drain channel, which could become stuck.
