Unlocking when individual door unlocking mode is enabled
To unlock the vehicle, while within the range of the remote control, point the radio key at the vehicle and briefly press the unlock button 1 once.
Now only one driver's door is unlocked. The self-locking and alarm system* are immediately switched off, which is accompanied by a short flashing of all direction indicators.
Pressing the unlock button 1 twice will unlock all vehicle locks.
The self-locking and alarm system* are switched off.
Unlocking the trunk lid
Point the radio key at the car, press and hold button 3 for about three seconds. The trunk lid will be unlocked.
Be careful not to accidentally unlock the trunk lid. An unlocked trunk lid can only be locked manually; it does not lock automatically.
Synchronization
If the car does not unlock when the corresponding button on the radio key is pressed, it should be assumed that the codes of the radio key and the control unit on the car no longer match. This can happen if the control buttons have been pressed frequently outside the system's coverage area.
It is necessary to resynchronize the radio key. The synchronization process should last no more than 1 minute and consists of the following:
- 1 - Press once for about one second either the unlock button 1 or the lock button 2 of the radio remote control key. The car remains locked. However, the control unit recognizes the existing fixed code;
- 2 - unlock or lock the car mechanically once using the key bit in the radio key;
- 3 - the key bit was identified as a valid mechanical code. At the same time, a new dynamic code was agreed between the radio key and the control unit. The synchronization process is complete.
Additional radio keys can be obtained from a Volkswagen service centre. These radio keys must be synchronised, as the anti-theft alarm code must also be entered into the head of the radio keys.
