Disconnect the air actuator vacuum hose from the thermostat. Separate the lower and upper parts of the air filter housing and remove the filter element. Check the position of the temperature control flap at the bottom of the air filter housing. The damper must block the heated air supply channel. Extend the vacuum hose of the thermostatic actuator with a hose. while sucking in air, check the free movement of the thermostatic damper and the operation of the pneumatic actuator. The damper must block the cold air intake duct. Start the engine at idle, connect the hose to the brass tube and check the operation of the thermostat. After no more than 20 s, the thermostatic damper should move at an angle of less than 20° (cold air intake blocked), then at an angle of more than 30° (heated air supply channel blocked) and at an angle of 20-30° (both channels are open).
