Checking for fuel cut-off at forced idle (VW Passat B4)
Switch off ignition. Disconnect the connector of the electrohydraulic control pressure regulator. Connect the test cord 1 (fig. 2-208) VAG 1315 A/1 and transition wires to the terminals of the regulator block and the connecting block. Connect the tester to the transition wires. Turn on the ignition. In this case, the tester (in ammeter mode) should show a current value within 90-110 mA. Start the engine and increase the crankshaft speed to 3000 rpm. Then sharply close the throttle valve. In this case, the device should show a control current of negative voltage.
