If the rear window heating element is faulty, first check the integrity of its circuit to the positive power terminal using a test lamp.
Check the reliability of the contact in the negative terminal connector. When connecting the test lamp to both terminals of the connector, it should light. Visually inspect to ensure that there are no breaks in the wires.
Clean the repaired area of the heating element from dust and dirt with alcohol or glass cleaner and wipe with a clean dry cloth. Stick pieces of adhesive tape tightly to both sides of the damaged area. Shake the bottle with conductive varnish so that no silver particles remain. Apply a sufficient layer of pack to the damaged area of the element with a thin brush. If it is necessary to apply several layers of varnish, dry each subsequent layer and do not apply more than three layers.
If drips form, they can be removed with the tip of a knife or a safety razor blade after the varnish has completely hardened for several hours.
Remove the adhesive tape no earlier than an hour after applying the pack, removing it in a direction at a right angle to the heating element conductor.
Dry the applied varnish at an ambient temperature of 20°C for 3 hours. At a lower temperature, the drying time increases slightly.
Turn on the heating element no earlier than 24 hours after repair.
