The automatic device for enriching the combustible mixture at start-up has electric and water heating. Electric heating is switched off by a thermal switch when the coolant temperature reaches more than +55°C. The initial adjustment should be changed only when absolutely necessary.
Removal
Disconnect the battery ground cable.
Disconnect all electrical wires from the device.
Remove 2 vacuum hoses from the thermo-pneumostatic valve from the air damper position control device.
Remove 3 screws from the longitudinal slots and remove the air damper position control device.
Installation
When installing, ensure that the heated bimetallic spring plate is adjacent to the operating lever. Preliminarily check the integrity of the bimetallic plate, replace the plate if necessary.

Place the air damper control device in place, screw in the 3 screws, but do not tighten too much.
Adjust the device to enrich the combustible mixture when starting. The device is adjusted correctly when the marks (arrow) on the cover and flange of the device match.
Caution: When the cover of the automatic device for enriching the combustible mixture at start-up is turned, the air damper is also turned. If the enrichment of the combustible mixture at start-up is switched off too early (warm engine does not start), you can turn the cover of the device in the direction of closing the air damper ("Starteklappe zu"), until the marks have shifted by approximately 5 mm. In this case, the air damper opens correspondingly later, in Tighten the cover of the automatic device for enriching the combustible mixture when starting.
Connect all electrical wires and vacuum hoses to the device.
Connect the ground wire to the battery.
Check the operation of the automatic device for enriching the combustible mixture during start-up.
