Replacing the air filter (VW Passat B3)

Replace the air filter element every 30,000 km. In case of high dustiness, replace the filter element more often.

Release the 4 quick release clips (arrows) and remove the air cleaner cover.

Remove the replacement air filter element.

Wipe the filter housing thoroughly.

Caution: Do not clean the filter element with gasoline or wet it with oil. Do not blow the filter with compressed air.

Insert the new replacement element into the air filter housing.

Place the cover so that the recess coincides with the protrusion on the air filter housing.

Secure the lid with clamps.
