Caution: In vehicles equipped with electronic ignition systems, various circumstances must be taken into account to avoid personal injury or damage to the ignition system, see chapter "Ignition system".
Note: Screws of the carburetor or injection system, which can change the composition of exhaust gases, in accordance with legal provisions must be made protected from unauthorized access. The location and number of adjusting screws depend on the type of carburetor.
The protective caps are removed with pliers or a screwdriver. In some cases, it is advisable to screw a screw of approximately 2 mm diameter into the protective cap and then remove the cap with pliers by this screw. In this case, the protective caps are destroyed. After adjustment, the adjusting screws must be covered with new caps (from spare parts).
As soon as the exhaust gas values no longer correspond to the prescribed values, the permit for operating the vehicle becomes invalid. If the carburetor does not have protective caps, then when the vehicle is checked by the traffic police, fines may be imposed.
