Rear shock absorber strut device (VW Passat B3)

• 1 - shock absorber

Install shock absorbers with the same color designation. They differ depending on the engine power and vehicle equipment.

• 2 - lower spring plate
• 3 - retaining ring
• 4 - gasket
• 5 - coil spring

Install springs with the same color designation. They differ depending on the engine power and vehicle equipment. The Variant is equipped with a protective sleeve.

• 6 - plastic cap
• 7 - protective pipe

The Variant is longer than the Limousine.

• 8 - Stop buffer

The Variant is shorter than the Limousine.

• 9 — spring support

The Variant is thinner than the Limousine.

• 10 - washer
• 11 - metal cap

Variant is higher than Limousine.

• 12 - lower rubber support
• 13 - spacer sleeve
• 14 — shock absorber support

The foam support must be removed. The welded nuts must fit into the recesses on the spring support. The welded nuts and cap must be aligned with the lower eye of the shock absorber.

• 15 - upper rubber support
• 16 — Plate washer
• 17 — nut, 25 Nm

Self-locking, always replace.

Note: The lock nut shown in the picture is missing.

• 18 - O-ring seal
• 19 — cap

Remove with a screwdriver.
