The torque converter is mounted on the splines of the oil pump and turbine shafts, so when installing, special attention should be paid to the position of the torque converter in the crankcase:
- check the correct installation of the oil pump shaft, the splined part of which should be connected to the turbine shaft with almost no gap;
- install the torque converter on the shafts with slight turns in both directions, inserting it into the splined connection;
- check the recess "a" (see diagram) of the torque converter in the crankcase, which should be about 30 mm when measured between the plane of the crankcase and the end of the mounting protrusion of the torque converter housing.
