Characteristics of automatic ignition advance of regulators of sensors-distributors of ignition (in the upper left corner of the graphs, the engine model is indicated):
A - characteristic of the centrifugal regulator;
B - characteristic of the vacuum regulator with ignition advance;
B' - characteristics of the vacuum regulator with ignition delay.
When checking the sensor-distributor removed from the engine on the stand, the values indicated on the graphs are divided by two. When checking in the engine, add the value of the initial ignition moment

Ignition distributor
Bosch branded ignition distributor, shielded, four-spark, with vacuum and centrifugal ignition timing controllers, with a high-voltage current distributor with axial leads, with a built-in microelectronic sensor (generator) control pulses, with a change in the phase angle of the resulting voltage. It is driven by a helical gear of the intermediate shaft. Direction of rotation left (camshaft drive side). The voltage generated by the generator sensor is in the range of 0-2 V. The resistance of the distributor rotor (marking «R1»), Ohm: 1000.
Numbers of sensors-distributors of ignition according to the Bosch catalog:
- engine EP: 0 237 020 096;
- engines YN, WV: 0 237 020 038;
- engine YP: 0 237 022 008;
- engine DS: 0 237 020 063 (until May 1983); About 237 020 086 (since May 1983).
Ignition advance angle to TDC at idle with the hose disconnected from the vacuum regulator of the ignition distributor sensor:
- motor EP: 6°±1°;
- motors YN, WV: 9°±1°.
Ignition advance angle to TDC at idle with a hose connected to the vacuum regulator of the ignition distributor sensor:
- motor YP: 0°±1°;
- motors DT, DS: 18°±1°.
Switch
The switch converts the control pulses of the generator sensor into current pulses in the primary winding of the ignition coil. It has a seven-pin connector (plug no. 7 reserved). 1.5 s after the stop of the ignition distribution sensor roller, a special switch circuit smoothly breaks the ignition coil power supply circuit, preventing sparking. This prevents excessive heating of the ignition coil with a low primary resistance value.
