Attention! The switch for the glove compartment light, the passenger airbag lock, and the switches on the left side of the central pillar in the passenger compartment of Touran vehicles are removed in the same way, as with Golf cars.
Hazard warning light switch
Removal
1. Turn off the ignition and remove the key from the ignition switch.
2. Remove the radio/heater panel trim, see the relevant chapter.
3. Remove the central deflector, see the corresponding chapter.
4. Disconnect the power connector of the airbag indicator light.
5. Disconnect the hazard warning light switch plug.
6. Squeeze the two tabs on the back of the deflector trim and disconnect the hazard warning light switch.
The switch is installed in the reverse order of removal.
Switches on the center console
Removal
7. Turn off the ignition and remove the key from the ignition switch.
8. Remove the pocket on the centre console, see the relevant chapter.
9. Disconnect the switch plug on the back of the pocket cover (see arrow in illustration).
10. Press the locking tabs and disconnect the switches.
The switches are installed in the reverse order of removal.
Driver's door window and central lock switches
Removal
11. Turn off the ignition and remove the key from the ignition switch.
12. Remove the driver's door trim, see the corresponding chapter.
13. Disconnect the connectors 1 on the back of the armrest cover (see illustration).
14. Unscrew the five bolts (see arrows in illustration 39.13) m release the panel and armrest trim together with the switches.
15. Disconnect the switch panel and armrest trim.
16. Release the retaining clips and remove the switches from the panel.
The switches are installed in the reverse order of removal.
Driver's door window switches
Removal
17. Turn off the ignition and remove the key from the ignition switch.
18. Using a plastic wedge, remove the handle cover from the driver's door trim, see the corresponding chapter.
19. Disconnect the plug from the back of the pad.
20. Release the four retaining clips and remove the switch from the cover.
The switch is installed in the reverse order of removal.
Fuel filler flap lock switch on driver's door
Removal
21. Turn off the ignition and remove the key from the ignition switch.
22. Remove the trim from the driver's door, see the corresponding chapter.
23. Disconnect the plug on the back of the door trim.
24. Press the retaining clips and remove the switch from the door trim.
The switch is installed in the reverse order of removal.
Power window switch on the front passenger door and on the rear side door
Removal
25. Turn off the ignition and remove the key from the ignition switch.
26. Remove the door trim, see the corresponding chapter.
27. Release the locking clamp (see arrow in illustration) and remove switch 1 from the door trim.
28. Disconnect the switch plug. The switch is installed in the reverse order of removal.
