The power supply is disconnected, for example, when the battery is disconnected, when the radio is removed from the instrument panel, or when the radio fuse blows. When the car is equipped with the original VW radio equipment, the radio is specially matched to the car using a diagnostic tester. Therefore, coding of the radio is not required.
When installing a new radio or replacing the old one due to a malfunction, you should contact a workshop for the appropriate coding.
Attention! If the radio receiver is coded, then before disconnecting the battery or removing the receiver, it is necessary to check and write down the code. If the code is unknown, then only a specialized workshop can put the radio receiver into operation.
The individual code is specified in the operating instructions supplied with the radio. Do not keep the instructions in the car.
Removal
1. Disconnect the battery.
2. Remove the radio/heater panel trim, see the relevant chapter.
3. Unscrew the four screws (see arrows in the illustration) and pull the radio out of the mounting compartment as far as possible to disconnect the plugs located on the back of the radio.
