Using the audio system while driving
Modern traffic conditions require the constant attention of drivers.
Modern car radios - in addition to the entertainment function - offer drivers a variety of traffic information about traffic conditions, road conditions, traffic jams, etc.
In order to take advantage of traffic information, you should familiarize yourself closely with the numerous possibilities of modern car radio equipment.
Listening to radio programs and CDs - on/off
By lightly touching the push-turn knob 1 you can switch the CD receiver on or off.
In this case, the radio station starts working with the same volume to which the tuner was tuned before turning off the CD receiver.
If the ignition key is removed while the CD Receiver is on, the CD Receiver will automatically turn off.
When the key is inserted back into the ignition, the CD receiver will automatically turn on.
With the ignition key removed, the CD receiver can be turned on by lightly pressing the push/turn knob 1. It will automatically turn off after about an hour to prevent battery drain.
By pressing the knob again, you can turn on the CD receiver again.
Volume control (Volume)
When turning the volume control (pic. 1.74) the display shows Volume and the volume selection bar. This bar graphically represents the volume level.
The bar disappears about five seconds after the volume level is changed.
NOTE: If the volume level is set to minimum, the volume selection bar with the addition of MIN remains unchanged on the display. You have the ability to set a specific volume level when you turn on the CD receiver, regardless of the position of the volume control.
Station memorization (manual memorization)
Select the desired range.
Tune to the desired station.
Press and hold that key (station keys 1-6), under which you want to enter this radio station until the radio transmission stops and a signal sounds. The radio station has been memorized.
After the station has been memorized, the station key number will appear on the display (if, for example, a radio station is memorized, a number will appear on key 3 «3»).
A maximum of 24 radio stations can be memorized - 6 stations for each of the four bands.
FM1 / FM2 = 6 stations each, AM1 / AM2 = 6 stations each.
NOTE: Make sure that when memorizing stations, the display shows the name of that station and not a scrolling line, otherwise this line will be memorized instead of the name of the radio station.
CD changer - CD mode
With a quick, light touch on keys 1 to 6, a specific CD can be loaded into the magazine while the CD changer is connected.
The loaded CD will be shown on the display - from CD1 to CD6.
If there is no magazine in the CD changer, the display will show: «NO MAGAZINE».
Automatic memorization
Pressing the AS key automatically memorizes the six radio stations with the strongest signals at the FM2 and AM2 levels.
Select band with AM or FM keys (pic. 1.76).
Press and hold down the AS key for about two seconds. The display will show «AUTOSTORE». The six strongest radio stations are then automatically memorized into the FM2 and AM2 memory levels.
Road radio TR (Traffic Program)
Via keys 5 (TP - Traffic Program) you can control the road radio.
By lightly pressing the TP key, you can turn the TP function on or off. At the same time, the TA- «Bereit-schaft» («Traffic Announcement» - traffic reports)
When the TP function is active, the message TP appears on the display (e.g. TR: «Antenne»).
If no traffic radio station is found, TP appears on the display: «No TR».
If the station to which the tuner is tuned does not broadcast any traffic announcements at all, the tuner automatically tunes in to the traffic radio station it was previously tuned to («Last Station Memory»).
If the station is no longer heard, the tuner will automatically start searching for the nearest available traffic radio station. TP appears on the display: «TR-Seek».
When tuned to a TP station, TP appears on the display: name of the TP station (For example: «TR: Antenne»).
The names and frequencies of the stations that broadcast traffic messages are shown on signs along the autobahns and partly on other roads.
TA-ready mode
When TA-ready mode is active, you can listen to traffic announcements. If the set volume level is very low or another operating mode is selected (radio, listening to CDs), despite this, traffic announcements are transmitted at the previously programmed volume level. If, on the other hand, the transmitter that was transmitting traffic announcements is already out of the reception area, after about 30 seconds, unnoticed, the search for a new traffic radio station starts in the background.
During the transmission of traffic announcements, the audio system automatically switches to mono sound, and the DSP digital processor puts the audio system into sound mode «TALK».
NOTE: Since the CD receiver has two tuners, tuning to traffic announcement transmitters occurs imperceptibly to the listener and regardless of the tuning to an actively received radio station. The TP transmitter to which the second tuner is tuned is only heard during traffic announcements.
NOTE: If the vehicle moves out of range of the TP transmitter to which the tuner is tuned, the search for a new TP transmitter will automatically begin.
Road radio - changing the TP transmitter
You can use the road radio buttons 6 and 8 to select any TP transmitter you wish.
By lightly pressing button 5, you can switch the TP traffic announcement function on or off. At the same time, the TA-ready function is activated.
With key 8, you can tune in to another, nearest TP transmitter.
With key 6, you can tune in to the old TP transmitter.
The list of received TP transmitters in the background is automatically updated.
Road radio - automatic tuning
The Auto TP function can be used to automatically tune in to the TP transmitter with the strongest signal.
Lightly press button 5 to turn on or off the TP traffic announcement function. At the same time, the TA-ready function is activated.
Press and hold down key 6 or 8 until TP appears on the display: «auto TR».
Release the key of 6 and 8 that was pressed.
Approximately five seconds later, a beep will sound and TP will read: «auto TR» will start flashing. The tuner looks for the TP transmitter with the strongest signal.
Road radio - traffic interruption
During a traffic announcement that you wish to interrupt, touch the TP key.
To deactivate traffic announcements permanently, hold down the TP key until the display shows the message TP: «OFF».
It may happen that a traffic message in progress needs to be interrupted, for example:
- the traffic message does not apply to the section of the road followed by the vehicle.
- the road message is too long and all the important things have already been said.
As soon as the transmission of the traffic announcement is interrupted, the previous mode of operation will resume - either the transmission of conventional radio programs or listening to CDs. The interrupted traffic report will be stored in the TIM memory and can be listened to later if necessary. However, the next new traffic announcement will interrupt listening to radio programs or CDs again.
Listening to memorized traffic announcements in random order
Press key 14.
Use the keys 6 and 8 to move forward through the traffic announcements (key 8) or back (key 6), or to the beginning of any message.
Listening in chronological order
Press key 14.
Transmission of recorded traffic announcements starts from the most recent one and proceeds to the first one.
The display can show, for example: TP - «Memo 2/3».
What means: «TR-Memo»: Send memorized traffic announcements.
«2/3»: Second message out of three memorized.
If there were no traffic announcements, the display shows: «No TP-Message».
Listening to CDs and road radio
In order not to interrupt your listening to CDs, keep the 5 key pressed until the message TP appears on the display: «OFF».
If the traffic radio was switched on before pressing the button 19, the traffic announcements interrupt the listening to CDs.
If the vehicle leaves the coverage area of the TP transmitter to which the tuner is tuned, the search for a new TP transmitter automatically starts.
By pressing the button 5 you can interrupt the transmission of the traffic report and continue listening to the CD.
The interrupted traffic report will be entered into the drive 19 and, if necessary, it will be possible to listen to it later.
However, the next new traffic report will again interrupt the CD playback.
Touching the search key 11 or 9 will start searching for a radio station in the selected direction, then the first station with a strong signal will be selected and heard.
List of radio stations
By pressing the search key 11 or 9 you can move up and down the list of radio stations.
Your tuner constantly monitors all well-received radio stations. When the tuner is turned on, all received radio stations are automatically listed in the sequence of their PI codes («Programm-ldentifikation»).
By PI-code, the tuner identifies radio stations, for example: «NDR 2».
NOTE: Search is only possible in the medium wave range (the AM key must first be pressed). Selection from the list is possible only in the ultrashort wave range (key must be pressed first) FM. Stations without RDS are located at the very end of the list of stations.
Track selection
By touching the search key 11 or 9, you can select the desired track on the CD, "flipping» tracks up or down. The selected track is shown on the display (For example: «TRACK 12»).

Indications when listening to radio broadcasts
A - road radio (TR) and the name of the traffic radio transmitter.
B is the name of the radio station you are listening to.
C - subrange (FM, AM).
D - glavisha, under which the given radio station is memorized.
When RDS is on, the name of the station is shown instead of the frequency.
Security coding
Security coding prevents unauthorized use of the CD receiver once it has been removed from the vehicle.
Convenient security coding is not possible for all vehicle models for technical reasons.
Until recently, you were forced to manually release the electronic lock every time you removed the CD receiver or disconnected the battery.
With the introduction of a new convenient security coding, the situation has changed: now, after the very first entry of the code number into the CD receiver, it is additionally entered into the car's memory!
If the power is turned off, the CD receiver automatically compares «mine» code number with the one that was entered into the car's memory. If the code numbers match, then the CD receiver is operational after a few seconds.
It is no longer necessary to remove the electronic lock manually.
If the code numbers do not match, for example when the CD receiver is installed in another car, the electronic lock must be released manually.
Radio map
The code number, together with the serial number of the CD receiver, is entered in the radio card (card for this CD receiver).
The radio card must be stored in a safe place and never in a vehicle.
NOTE: If, after turning on the CD receiver, the display shows «SAFE» -together with a small number 2 on the left, this means that the appliance is locked. Now the CD receiver should be left on for one hour, and then try again to unlock.
Wrong code number
If, when unlocking the electronic lock, an incorrect code number was entered by mistake, the display starts flashing first «SAFE», and then it glows constantly.
Now you can repeat the entire unlocking process one more time. The number of attempts is shown on the display.
If the wrong code was entered again, then within the next hour, you should refuse to try to enter the code. You can find out that the device is locked by the small number 2 at the bottom left of the display. After an hour has elapsed, during which the CD-receiver must remain switched on, the indication of the number of attempts disappears, and you can proceed to unlock again in the same sequence.
This cycle - two attempts, then an hour of waiting - can be repeated and repeated.
