Side trim for the rear of the car (Golf) (VW Golf 5)

Removal

1. Remove the rear seat and armrests.

2. Remove the upper rear pillar trim.

Note: There is no need to remove the seat belt fastening bracket.

3. Remove plug 1 on the side panel using a screwdriver and unscrew screw 2 (see illustration).



4. Release the threshold trim from the fasteners at the junction with the side trim.

5. Detach the side panel from the wall and release it from under the door seal.

Attention! Depending on the configuration, there may be a high-tone speaker on the side trim. The speaker wire is laid under tension and may break if the trim is handled carelessly.

6. Turn off the ignition and remove the key from the lock.

7. Disconnect the plug from speaker 3 (see illustration 20.3).

8. Cars with security alarm. Disconnect the interior security sensor plug located under the trim.

9. Remove the trim from the side wall.

Installation

10. Make sure that the trim fasteners are not damaged and are installed correctly. If necessary, renew the fasteners.

The installation of the trim is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

When doing this, make sure that the trim fits tightly under the door seal.
