Golf cars
1. Disconnect the battery.
2. Open the rear hatch.
3. Lift the trunk floor covering and remove it.
4. Remove the rear cross member trim.
5. Remove the luggage compartment shelf.
6. Unscrew two screws 1 and remove eye 2 from the side wall (see illustration).

7. Remove plug 3 by prying it up with a plastic wedge (see illustration 22.6).
8. Remove the side trim from the trunk.
The installation of the trim is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
9. Screw in screws 1 and tighten them to 8 Nm (see illustration 22.6).
Jetta cars
10. Remove the trunk floor covering.
11. Remove the rear seat.
12. Remove the rear seat side armrests.
13. Remove the rear cross member trim.
14. Unscrew the two screws and remove the eye from the side wall.
15. Remove several plugs on the front, rear and top sides of the trunk side trim by prying them off with a plastic wedge.
16. Remove the trim from the side wall. At the same time, depending on the configuration, disconnect the existing plugs and remove the trim from the trunk.
The installation of the trim is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
17. Screw in screws 1 and tighten them to 8 Nm.
