Golf Cars
1. Disconnect the battery.
2. Open the tailgate.
3. Raise the trunk floor cover and remove it.
4. Remove facing of a back crossbar.
5. Remove the luggage rack.
6. Unscrew the two screws 1 and remove the lug 2 from the side wall (see illustration).
7. Remove plug 3 by prying it with a plastic wedge (see illustration 22.6).
8. Remove the side trim from the trunk.
The casing is installed in the reverse order of removal.
9. Screw in the screws 1 and tighten them with 8 Nm (see illustration 22.6).
Jetta cars
10. Remove a covering of a floor of a luggage carrier.
11. Remove the rear seat.
12. Remove the side armrests of the rear seat.
13. Remove facing of a back crossbar.
14. Unscrew the two screws and remove the lug from the side wall.
15. Remove several plugs on the front, rear and upper sides of the side trim of the trunk by prying them with a plastic wedge.
16. Remove the upholstery from the side wall. In this case, depending on the configuration, disconnect the existing plugs and remove the upholstery from the trunk.
The casing is installed in the reverse order of removal.
17. Screw in the screws 1 and tighten them with 8 Nm.
