Four-door Golf cars



1. Remove the rear seat.

2. Remove the armrests.

3. Remove the trim inside the passenger compartment above the wheel arch.

4. Insert a plastic wedge under the front of the 4th threshold trim, release its back side from the fasteners, and then slide the front edge of the trim out of the door seal.

5. Release the guide 1 of the door sill trim from the bottom of the center pillar trim (see illustration).

6. Detach the rear part of the trim 4 from the door sill and release it from the door seal (see illustration 15.5).

7. Release the guide 2 of the threshold trim from the lower part of the center pillar trim (see illustration 15.5).

8. Remove cover 3 and pull out seat belt 5 (see illustration 15.5).

9. Remove the door sill trim.

10. Make sure that the trim clips are not damaged and are installed correctly. If necessary, renew the clips.

The door sill trim is installed in the reverse order of removal.

In this case, make sure that the fasteners fit precisely into the mounting holes, and that the ends of the trim are tightly closed by the door seal.

11. Remove the rear seat.

12. Release the threshold trim from the fastenings on the threshold and the side trim of the passenger compartment, as well as from the door seal.
