Golf cars
1. Turn off the ignition and remove the key from the lock.
2. Remove the side cover on the right side of the instrument panel.
3. Remove the trim cover under the heater switch block on the center console.
4. Open the glove compartment and unscrew the seven screws 1, 2 and 3 (see illustration).
5. Push the glove compartment 4 out until it stops (see arrow A in Illustration 14.4) and remove it from the dashboard, pull it towards the interior (see arrow B).
6. Disconnect, depending on the equipment, the plugs for the glove compartment light, footwell light, and airbag switch.
7. Disconnect the glove compartment ventilation duct, if necessary.
The installation of the glove box is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
Touran cars
8. Turn off the ignition and remove the key from the lock.
9. Remove the side cover on the right side of the instrument panel.
10. Remove the front section of the center console.
11. Remove decorative trim 1 on the instrument panel above the glove compartment by prying it off with a plastic wedge (see illustration).
12. Open the glove compartment 4 (see illustration 14.11).
13. Insert a plastic wedge under the light and disconnect the light and its plug.
14. Unscrew five screws 2 and 3 and remove the storage box 4 from the instrument panel, moving it into the passenger compartment (see illustration 14.11).
15. Depending on the configuration, disconnect the airbag switch plug.
16. Disconnect, if necessary, the glove compartment ventilation duct.
The installation of the glove box is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
