Remove the clutch link near the release lever.
Raise the front of the car and put it on supports.
Remove the exhaust system from the holders so that there is no stretching.
Support the engine-gearbox unit with a jack.
Detach the torque rod at the front as well as the gearbox support on the left and rear.
Remove the rear engine and transmission mounts.
Lower the drive unit until you have access to the gearbox cover.
For a four-speed gearbox, unscrew the 4 bolts and remove the cover.
With a five-speed gearbox, use a sharp screwdriver to pry off the cover and remove it.
Move stop buffer away from release lever.
Push the release lever down.
Remove the release sleeve from the guide sleeve: insert a new sleeve.
Install the plastic cover of the five-speed gearbox. Do not use a metal hammer for this, as this may cause breakage. Use a wooden spacer.
Assemble engine and gearbox mounts. See the table for tightening torques of threaded connections.
