First, you need to check the oil level in the gearbox.
If a howling noise appears in a certain gear and the sound changes when you press the accelerator pedal and when you release the gas, this means that the toothed connection of the corresponding pair of gears is worn out.
Noise that occurs in all gears indicates wear in the final drive or in the gearbox shaft bearings.
Rattling, crushing noises, heard only in a warm gearbox, indicate that the synchronizing rings are damaged.
Instructions. Workshops only rarely dare to overhaul the gearbox. They advise replacing the entire unit. In most cases, it is cheaper to install a used gearbox. In this case, pay attention to the fact that it has the correct characteristics (see chapter "Technical data"). The gearbox housing is stamped with an abbreviated letter designation, in addition to the date of manufacture (day, month). As for the year, only the last digits are indicated. You will find the designation for the gearbox on the side, on the left, under the drive shaft or at the bottom, in the middle of the support flange, near the engine.
