Check all joints and connections without exception, as well as the brake light switch. disc brake caliper, drum brake brake stumps, behind which are the brake cylinders.
Brake hoses must not be wet, damaged or swollen. Otherwise, they need to be changed (see section "Brake Hose Replacement").
Brake lines on post-August 1978 models are synthetic coated for rust protection. If this coating is damaged, rust may occur. Therefore, do not clean the pipelines with screwdrivers, wire brushes and emery. For cleaning, it is recommended to use a special cold detergent.
If the protective layer is damaged. a thin layer of anti-corrosion agent should be applied.
Flattened pipelines and those that have traces of rust. must be replaced.
Check if there are safety caps on all bleed valves. They are located near the disc brake calipers and at the drum brake shields.
You can temporarily check the pressure in the brakes yourself.
Depress the brake pedal with full force.
Even after a few minutes under full load, the pedal should remain firm. Otherwise, one of the cuffs in the master brake cylinder is defective. Due to a leaky cuff, the liquid level in the tank does not fall, but the pressurized liquid flows past the piston of the main brake cylinder to the side where there is no pressure.
Leaks at the piston cups can only be detected by precise inspection in the workshop.
Instruction. Gasoline, diesel fuel, lubricants. kerosene has a negative effect on brake hoses. Hoses should also not be varnished. Only the agent used to protect the bottom of the machine is harmless.
