Disc brake mechanism with floating caliper from Girling (replacement of linings) (VW Golf 1)

Lift the expansion spring.

Loosen the brake pad bracket mounting bolt (SW 13 or 14).

If the bracket is jammed in the lugs due to rust, apply a punch, then knock out the bracket alternately from the top and bottom.

Insert a screwdriver into the lugs of the pad and pull out the pads.

When installing new pads, check whether they can move on the fixing pins.

If you did not purchase new pins along with the pads, the old ones will need to be sanded down.
Install the spacer spring, with the arrow pointing downwards (in the direction of rotation of the brake disc when driving forward).

Finally, press the brake pedal several times so that the pads are in contact with the brake discs.
