Oil pressure sensor - replacement
The oil pressure sensor on 1.1 / 1.3 l engines is installed on the cylinder head on the carburetor side, and on 1.5 / 1.6 / 1.8 l engines - in the rear of the head, on the flywheel side. Since August 1982, two sensors have been installed on all models: the second sensor (with white insulator) included in the alarm buzzer circuit and is activated when the pressure drops below 1.8 bar at 2150 rpm. On engines 1.5, 1.6, 1.8 l, this sensor is installed on the base of the oil filter. A sensor with a brown insulator controls the warning light and is activated at 0.3 bar. Replacement is carried out in the same way for both sensors.
1. Disconnect the wire from the terminal on the sensor.
2. Turn out the block of gauges by means of a spanner key and take the block of gauges from a head of the block of cylinders or the basis of the oil filter.
3. Install sensors in reverse order.
Coolant temperature sensor - replacement
1. Remove the radiator cap (expansion tank). If the engine is hot, take precautions (grab the plug through a thick cloth, turn it 90°and let the system depressurize, then remove the plug).
2. Disconnect the wire from the sensor.
3. Remove the sensor from the thermostat housing.
WARNING: some of the coolant will spill out during this operation, so place a wide container under the engine. After replacing the sensor, add liquid to the cooling system as described in chapter "Cooling system".
4. Install the sensor in reverse order.
