Note: Replace intermediate plate.
Note: Observe the expiration date of the sealant.
Note: The oil pan and balancer shaft drive with intermediate plate must be installed and screwed on within 5 minutes after applying the silicone sealant.
Remove any remaining sealant on the cylinder block with a flat scraper.
Cut off the tip of the tube at the front mark (Hole diameter about 3mm).
Apply silicone sealant as shown to the clean seating surface of the new intermediate plate.
Observe the following instructions.
The sealant bead should be 2-3 mm thick.
In places of holes for mounting bolts, apply sealant from the inside
The sealant bead must face the cylinder block. No sealant is needed for the oil pan.

Note: The thickness of the sealant bead must not exceed the specified value, as excess sealant may enter the oil pan and clog the oil pump oil pickup strainer (pic. 2.179).

Push the intermediate plate on the locating bushings of the balancing shaft drive, as shown in Figure 2.180.
Install the oil pump with balance shaft drive and intermediate plate. Screw on the mounting bolts, starting from the middle towards the edges, with a tightening torque of 15 Nm + 1/4 turn (90°).
Note: Observe different bolt lengths.
Bring the crankshaft to the TDC position of the first cylinder.

Align the mark on the balance shaft chain sprocket with the fixing hole (pic. 2.181).
Lock the sprocket in this position with the lock pin. Put the chain on the balance shaft sprocket.
Install the oil pump sprocket and tighten the mounting bolt by hand.
Note: The oil pump chain sprocket can only be installed in one position. For installation it is allowed to scroll only the oil pump.
Remove lock pin and hex wrench 1. Install oil pump sprocket. Tightening torque 20 Nm + 1/4 rev. (90°). You can hold by the center bolt of the vibration damper.
Install the oil pan.
Further assembly is carried out, respectively, in the reverse order of dismantling.
