Note: When the oil drain adapter is screwed in, a valve opens in the oil filter housing. When the oil drain adapter is unscrewed, the valve automatically closes again.

Unscrew the dust cap from the oil filter housing (fig. 2.172).
Direct the oil drain adapter hose into the pan and screw the oil drain adapter into the oil filter housing.

Drain the engine oil.
