The electromechanical parking brake control unit and the ESP sensor are installed in the same housing under the center console.
After replacing the electromechanical parking brake control unit with ESP sensor, it is necessary to code the ABS control unit and perform basic settings for the brake system (electromechanical parking brake).
Warning: Strong shaking (for example, a fall, a blow) may destroy the ESP sensor. After which the ESP sensor must not be used.
Removal
Remove the center console.
Unscrew the three fastening nuts.

Remove plug 1 of the electromechanical parking brake control unit (Fig. 6.18).
Remove the electromechanical parking brake control unit.
Installation
Installation is carried out in reverse order.
When installing the electromechanical parking brake control unit, it is necessary to ensure a correct, precise fit in the holder without any distortion.
Note: Never install the ESP sensor by force using the mounting nuts.
Tighten the mounting nuts to a torque of 9 Nm.
Perform basic adjustment of the electromechanical parking brake.
