Visual inspection of the brake system for leaks and damage (VW Passat B6)

Check the following parts and components for leaks and damage:

• master brake cylinder;
• brake booster (with ABS: hydraulic unit);
• brake force regulator and brake calipers.

Check that the brake hoses are not kinked.

In addition, check that the brake hoses do not touch other parts of the car when the wheels are turned to the extreme positions until they stop.

Check the brake hoses for porosity and brittleness.

Check brake hoses and lines for wear.

Also check the connections of hoses and pipes, as well as their fastenings for strength of fixation, tightness and corrosion.

Attention: Any detected faults must be corrected.
